Behavioural Support Services
Behavioural Support Services
Behavioural support services are designed to help families with young children under six who are exhibiting challenging behaviours such as frequent meltdowns, refusal to accept no, difficulty with listening and following through on requests.
Children exhibiting these behaviours are often referred and evaluated by a psychologist, pediatrician or teacher who may recommend behaviour support therapy. Our program at clinique entourfamille™ focuses on developing strategies for both the child and the family to better manage and regulate behaviour using positive reinforcement and specific behavioural tools.
Strategies include how to:
- Describe and label emotions
- Identify how others see and react to behaviors
- Identify events which act as triggers for behaviors
- Increase both calming and alerting skills
- Develop response strategies and reinforcement schedules
- Self-monitor behaviours and responses
Support and training are provided on-line and our strategies draw on the principals of applied behaviour analysis including relational frame theory, verbal behaviour and behavioural skills training as well as components of Social Thinking ® and Zones of Regulation ® curriculums.
Helping you and your child starts with our complimentary consultation with our early childhood development specialist in order to determine whether your child can benefit from behavioural support or any other therapy. A more comprehensive evaluation may be recommended.
Receipts are provided for all paid services.
It is the responsibility of the client to verify with their insurance plan if a particular service is covered, the specific amount of coverage, and which professionals are covered under each plan.
